Inguinal hernia is the most common type of hernia. Three out of four hernias occur in the groin area. In a hernia, the front abdominal wall “breaks” at one point, the organs of the abdominal area bulge, as for example, part of the intestine in the groin area (the contents of the hernia).
The only effective treatment for hernia is an operation. The intervention can be open or minimally invasive (with laparoscopy).
